We visited the Washokani Camp outside Hasakah in January 2020. Of the
300,000 people displaced by Turkeys invasion of North East Syria,
about half were lucky enough to find refuge with friends, family, or
have money to rent a place. The rest moved into existing Displaced
Persons Camps. This camp, comprised of over 7,500 people (and growing
daily), is new and was built specifically to house people fleeing
Turkish troops and their militias. Significant work still needs to be
done to help the people of North East Syria and your contributions are
much appreciated.
