Support Syrian Farms & Agriculture

Staple crops include wheat, barley, and cotton along with a host of vegetables and fruits.

Years of war have extensively damaged the irrigation canals and associated equipment throughout Democratic Syria along with collective silos which are critical to crop preparation and storage. Most of Democratic Syria’s families rely on agriculture to survive and rebuilding this fundamental part of their culture is one of our primary efforts. Here are some ways you can help.

A farmers first step is planting seed for their crop. You can secure a farmers future by providing the seed for the next planting season.  Guarantee their hard work pays off by donating for pesticides and fertilizers that are critical for their crops’ success.

Donors can also choose to support a farmer as he cares for his crops and his family. Let us know if you want to support a farmer in a certain region, city, or type of crop. We will give you his point of contact information and provide regular updates along with pictures of his agricultural successes.

North and East Syria have historically been referred to as the “Breadbasket of the Middle East” ; 75-80% of their economy depends on agriculture.
